ClearProfit is operated by Untapped B.V., registered in the Netherlands. You can contact us at info@untapped.nl.
2. What data we collect
When you install ClearProfit on your Shopify store, we collect and store the following:
- Store information: Your Shopify store domain and access tokens required to operate the app.
- Order data: Order ID, revenue, discounts, line items, and fulfillment status — used to calculate per-order profit.
- Product and variant data: Product titles, variant IDs, and cost-per-item values — used for COGS calculation.
- Ad spend data: Aggregated daily spend, impressions, and clicks from connected ad platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok) — used to allocate ad costs per order.
- Settings and configuration: Your fee settings, margin thresholds, alert email addresses, and shipping cost defaults.
We do not collect: customer personal data (names, email addresses, shipping addresses), payment information, or any data beyond what is necessary to operate the profit tracking functionality.
3. Ad platform integrations
If you connect Meta Ads, Google Ads, or TikTok Ads, we store OAuth access tokens and the ad account ID you select. These tokens are used solely to pull aggregated daily spend data. We do not access your campaign creative, audience data, or personal information of your ad platform users.
4. How we use your data
We use your data solely to:
- Calculate real-time profit on every incoming order
- Trigger and manage fulfillment holds via Shopify's API
- Allocate daily ad spend proportionally across orders
- Send alert emails when orders fall below your margin threshold
- Send a weekly P&L summary email to your configured alert address(es) every Monday
- Display profit trends and summaries in your dashboard
- Manage your subscription via Shopify Billing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or any other purposes.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon (AWS eu-central-1, Frankfurt). All connections use TLS encryption. The app is hosted on Railway with HTTPS enforced. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
6. Data retention
Data is retained for as long as the app is installed on your store. When you uninstall ClearProfit:
- Your session is immediately invalidated
- All store data is permanently deleted within 48 hours
- This complies with Shopify's mandatory data deletion requirements
7. GDPR compliance
As a Netherlands-based company, we comply fully with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about your store
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing

8. Shopify data requests
In compliance with Shopify's Partner requirements, we respond to the following mandatory webhooks:
- Customer data request: ClearProfit does not store customer personal data. We store order IDs and revenue figures only, not names, addresses, or emails.
- Customer data erasure: We respond to customer redact requests within 30 days. As we don't store personal customer data, there is typically nothing to delete.
- Shop data erasure: All store data is deleted within 48 hours of uninstallation.
9. Cookies
ClearProfit operates entirely within the Shopify Admin embedded app environment and does not use cookies on this website (clearprofit.nl) for tracking or analytics.
10. Third-party sub-processors
- Railway: App hosting (railway.app) — United States
- Neon: Database hosting — AWS eu-central-1, Frankfurt (neon.tech)
- Shopify: Authentication and billing
- Resend: Transactional email delivery — alert emails and weekly P&L summaries (resend.com)
- Meta, Google, TikTok: Ad spend data (only when you connect these integrations)
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify merchants of significant changes via the app. The current version is always available at clearprofit.nl/privacy.html.
